Breakfast
Each morning guests savor the complimentary and renowned Innkeepers' Country Breakfast, served daily in the antique-furnished Lobby. A verbal menu changes each morning to reflect what is fresh and in season. Herbs from the garden enhance many of the preparations. Typical morning fare might include a fresh Willapa Bay Oyster Hangtown Fry, Razor Clam Fritters with poached eggs, Smoked Salmon Omelette with local watercress, and the Innkeeper's Sourdough Pancakes topped with fresh local berries. "The Shelburne is filled with warmth--from both fireside and friendship...The breakfasts are said to be the best in the entire Pacific Northwest...The inn is north of the Columbia River and only a breath from the longest beach in North America--a photographer's dream, with lighthouses, bluffs, jetties." Local Attractions
Located between the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean on the Long Beach Peninsula, The Shelburne Inn is surrounded by stunning scenery, just a short walk from the inn's front door. The Peninsula, an unspoiled 28-mile stretch of wild Pacific Coast known as the longest, continuous beach in the United States, is a natural paradise complete with bird sanctuaries, lighthouses, and panoramic vistas. Willapa Bay, just east of the Inn, is a pristine haven for waterfowl, and Ilwaco's nearby docks provide access to sport fishing for the famous Pacific salmon and white sturgeon. "Long overdue for a weekend alone, my husband and I managed to escape to the Washington coast. Never mind that winter was still firmly entrenched. The poignant solitude that inhabits a seaside town in the off-season seemed just right for our plans, which beyond sleeping late, were vague and potentially at odds; He was looking for adventure; I was hoping for romance. We found both at the Shelburne Inn." AAA Journey Magazine
