Accommodations
John La Farge was the famed stained glass maker from the fabulous Breakers summer cottage. He married Margaret Perry whose lineage traces back to Commodores Oliver and Matthew Perry. Many of our signature rooms pay tribute to this family.
The John La Farge has an elegant room with canopied 4 poster bed, small sitting area and oversized marble floored bathroom with a double jacuzzi tub and a reproduction of one of John La Farge's stained glass window for ambiance and privacy.
The Oliver Perry has a nautical theme with tones of royal blue and gold, wood trim, a working fireplace, queen-sized sleighbed and single jacuzzi tub. A desk and couch add to the comfort of this room that could easily be a stateroom on a ship.
The Master Suite is a stunner! A spacious bedroom complete with a dazzling jeweled chandelier, 4 poster canopied bed and 3 over-stuffed chairs stuffed chairs. The only thing that could surpass the bedroom is the gorgeous bathroom done in green marble and in circular style this room has all one could ask for in a bathroom-a double jacuzzi tub, his and hers vanity and European style open shower for two-this bathroom is opulent and impressive.
Margaret La Farge, on the third floor is tucked into a quiet corner of the house making for a cozy retreat and often dubbed the "honeymoon suite" as there is complete privacy in this romantic hideaway. The bathroom is lovely with a double jacuzzi tub and lace curtains for privacy.
Matthew Perry went to the Orient in his travels which is why this room also on the third floor has an Asian flair, also boasting a small sitting room, view of the harbor and of the Newport Bridge and fabulous sunsets. This room has a single jacuzzi tub and a toille chaise in the sitting area.
Breakfast
Our breakfasts are prepared by the Innkeeper-a former restaurant chef-both in New York City and Newport. Bowls of fresh fruit and homemade pastries are staples of each morning along with juices, tea and coffee. The menu daily consists of eggs any style, buttermilk pancakes with or without bananas or blueberries and Brioche French toast served with homemade maple-honey butter. On Sundays classic Eggs Benedict is added to the roster. If any allergies or diabetic the Innkeeper/Chef is happy to accomodate with notice.
