Fortunately guests at the Gideon Ridge Inn are not required to get up for sunrise on the stone terrace. The freshly ground coffee we brew, however, does seem to create a certain incentive. "Good Heaven!" someone might exclaim, looking over the endless blue mountains, "just how far can you see on a clear day, anyway?" Very far, indeed, actually. But then what's under one's very nose is somewhat breathtaking in itself. Consider broad stone terraces with old wicker and plump pillows. Consider quiet garden benches and perennial borders. Consider a library with massive stone fireplace, a breakfast room with original art, wonderfully comfortable bedrooms with baths en suite.. And nearby is a village with shops and parks and treasures galore....
